How did your company get started? Lupa Irie is a native of Atlanta and a graduate of University of Georgia, a Naturopath, author, natural food chef and the creator/owner of Lupa’s Kitchen, Inc. She is a mother of five, grandmother of three, teacher and speaker, artist, and a woman who is driven by her motto "Therapy through Food". She has spent nearly 40 years building and expanding her knowledge on using food as your medicine. Lupa Irie is a true advocate for you are what you assimilate!
She also works as a Natural Foods Chef and Lifestyle Consultant with cancer patients and their families always emphasizing the importance of diet and lifestyle choices as part of their healing journey. Through this Lupa developed a series of classes based on traditional preparation of foods. These classes are inspired through studies of Dr Weston A Price and his highly recognized book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, as well as Sally Fallon's book Nourishing Traditions Cookbook.
In 2010 she earned her degree as a Doctor of Naturopathy from Clayton College of Natural health which furthered her education in homeopathy and natural treatments. During this time Lupa was part of a medical team from Progressive Medical Center that went into Haiti after the earthquake and did wound care at St Marc Hospital. An experience she will never forget.
In January 2011, Lupa’s Kitchen, Inc. with its motto "Therapy through Food "sprouted to life! At present she is producing a line of organic sprouted buckwheat cereals and organic germinated trail mixes, that are sold online and through local stores.
She continues to teach classes on "Traditional Food Preparation" from beginning to end. Lupa instills in her students the awareness of proper food preparation, as well as the health giving aspects of foods rich in enzymes and probiotics. Her basic belief is that, these traditional foods are excellent facilitators of proper digestion and assimilation, which are the keys to longevity and long term quality health.
Lupa also includes as part of her services a "Healthy Living Shopping Tour", in which she teaches her clients how to make better choices in their shopping experience particularly bringing awareness of how to avoid GMO's, offering food supplement choices and educating them on the benefits quality fat and availability of local organic foods.
